This week is National Fire Prevention Week.
Most fire deaths are NOT caused by burns, but by smoke inhalation and the resulting buildup of carbon monoxide (CO) in the bloodstream. CO is also a byproduct of portable generators.
Because of this, the Portable Generator Manufacturers’ Association (PGMA) wants to remind everyone that the ONLY safe place to use a portable generator is OUTSIDE and FAR from any occupied dwelling. This requires planning for the distance and having the right amount of extension cords to bring power to a dwelling space. Watch the video below for more info!

October 12, 2023 is the deadline to apply for both the Tribal Regular and Tribal Elderly Deer Hunts. The Conservation Law Enforcement Office will be accepting applications from 7:00 AM- 5:00 PM. Money Order only, Cost is $10.00 due with application and if successfully drawn the remainder of $25.00 due before October 31st. 3 Year ineligibility is in effect if drawn previously. Any questions?
