Martinart Studios presents: PROTEST: See Something, Say Something

July 13, 2022 by Mescalero Apache Tribe

CALL TO ARTISTS: An Exhibit of Contemporary Art

Man has been lamenting his fate since the beginning of time, and artists have been capturing that angst ever since. Whether scratched on a rock or graffitied on a building, PROTEST art is part and parcel of the human condition. Artists have always striven to make society more aware of its role in the collective conscience, with the end goal of bettering mankind.

This exhibition will focus on artists who shine a light upon issues – hidden and not – that pull at the fabric of society. No subject is taboo! Topics surrounding racism, sexism, politics, free speech, the environment, economic inequality – the list goes on and on.

All media will be considered, including (but not limited to) painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, collage, digital art, and video. My intention is to showcase artists whose work sends a message; artists who SAW something and SAID something. There is no cost to participate, and no commission on sales is charged. I am looking for art that has a Sense of Wonder!

The exhibit will be presented
Friday, October 7 through Friday, December 2, 2022 at
FUSION
700-708 1st Street NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102
{Part of the Two Moons Exhibits Series)

Opening Reception: Friday, October 7, 2022: 5:30-8:00 p.m.

Closing Reception: Friday, December 2, 2022: 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.
