Early Childhood/Back to School Assistance Program Applications

  • Applications submitted ON/BEFORE July 26th, checks will be distributed in the Mescalero Community Center Gym on Thursday August 1st starting at 9am
  • If you DID NOT get a call back about missing info or more info needed; your application was approved for the Enrolled Youth that is 0-3 or 4-19 that is enrolled in PreK to 12 grade
  • ALL applications submitted AFTER July 26th, checks will be mailed out at a later date, after approval.
  • These applications will be accepted until August 16th at COB (430pm). After this date, applications will NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED.

South Fork and Salt Fire/Flood Relief Program Applications

  • JULY 31st is the last day to submit the Fire/Flood application by Close Of Business (COB) (430pm).

Reminder: General Meeting

Reminder:

General meeting will be July 30th at 9AM in the Mescalero Community Center Gym and lunch will be provided.

Mescalero Apache Tribe employees and IMG employees are welcome to attend however, you must check in with your supervisor/director first. In order for services to continue, employees are responsible for checking in with their boss to ensure adequate coverage is available before attending the General Meeting.

There will be sign-in sheets for employees that attend.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM DISTRIBUTION INFORMATION

For August 1, 2024: $700 per eligible child

Checks will be distributed on the following schedule:

  • Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Mescalero Community Center – Gymnasium   9:00 am – 4:00 pm 
  • Friday, August 2, 2024 at the Tribal Finance (Accounting) Office   9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Check mailing information:

  • Checks will be mailed on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 2:00 pm
  • Checks will be mailed to out-of-town residents only
    • if you reside in Mescalero, Ruidoso, Tularosa or Alamogordo (locals) and would like your check mailed, please notify the Finance Department no later than Friday,  August 2nd, 2024 by 3:00 pm
  • If you are an out-of-town resident and do not want your check mailed, please notify the Administrative front desk receptionists no later than Wednesday, July 31st by 4:00 pm.  All address changes will need to be made with Tazalynn Cochise as soon as possible
  • Once the checks are placed in the mail, they become property of the US Postal service- we cannot go back and request for a check to be pulled or recovered

Returned checks:

  • All returned checks will go directly to Tribal Finance
    • Please call Tazalynn Cochise with any address changes
  • Tribal Finance will then contact Tazalynn Cochise for an updated address
    • If an updated address is not received, the check will remain in Tribal Finance until a new address has been received
  • Once Tribal Finance receives the updated address, the check will be mailed out the next business day

Lost/stolen checks:

  • If you lose a check or it is stolen, you will need to notify the Tribal Finance Department
  • The stop payment takes approximately 3 business days
    • Once the stop payment has been approved, it will be re-issued the Friday after

Things to remember:

  • Please have an ID available, as the individuals distributing checks may not know you and will need to verify your identity
  • If you are under the influence, checks will not be distributed to you
  • Early check releases cannot be accommodated
