The Measles:

February 13, 2025 by Mescalero Apache Tribe

Attention, everyone! We’ve noticed an increase in measles cases in our community, and it’s crucial to stay informed and vigilant. Here are some signs to watch for:

  1. FEVER: A high fever is overnight one of the first symptoms.
  2. COUGH: Persistent cough can accompany a fever.
  3. RUNNING NOSE: Nasal congestion or runny nose may also occur.
  4. RED EYES: Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common symptom.
  5. RASH: Look for a red, blotchy rash that usually starts on the face and spreads downwards.

PREVENTION IS KEY!

  1. Ensure your vaccinations are up to date.
  2. If you or your child show any symptoms, please stay home and consult with a healthcare provider.
  3. Spread the word, not the virus.

Let’s work together to keep our community safe and healthy!
